The place I mentioned in class today is called Loomcraft Textiles. It's further East than I remembered, but if the person taking I-40 is going through Burlington then it could still work out. They can offer "patches of material for free for good purposes," though I could call and ask how big patches are or if we would be limited to the number of patches.
Here's their website, and I'd be more than happy to call if you guys think there's a need for fabric, though I'm not sure if their hours would be conflicting to the driver, or I can research places that aren't as far.
